“If I had to point to a moment that really began something, it would be Stained Glass Blue. This was my earliest step forward from active randomness as an end, to utilizing it as a means to an end. Something here called out for more, something in the foreground, something that put those strokes to work, yet something that belonged. Having always loved stained glass, the Thalo and Cobalt blocks of blue and light satisfied that need. This is where the Ascending Colors began. I just didn’t know it at the time.”
