“While I had laid the brushes down nearly a year earlier, I found myself alone in the house in the early afternoon. Late November Birthdays are short and usually cold and dark, but this day, my 30th, was pleasant. A left over canvas, a little paint, the Holly bush out the side door, and some sunlight. I went to a party later that night, a party at which I was not the guest of honor, but I wasn’t bothered. I had had a very nice day.”
